Tourism is travel for pleasure or business; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating, and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours.Tourism may be international, or within the traveller's country. The World Tourism Organization defines tourism more generally, in terms which go "beyond the common perception of tourism as being limited to holiday activity only", as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual e  nvironment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure and not less than 24 hours, business and other purposes".Tourism can be domestic or international, and international tourism has both incoming and outgoing implications on a country's balance of payments.

in this section I will discuss more about the discovery of a historical site in Bumiayu, in my opinion this is a good start to advance the economy in Bumiayu through tourism, let's discuss further!
What is Bumiayu?

Bumiayu is a district in the Brebes, Central Java, Indonesia. Bumiayu is the center of community activity in the south of Brebes. Its sub-districts include Tonjong, Sirampog, Bantarkawung, Salem, and Paguyangan. This district is located in upland areas, and has major transportation routes through Tegal - Navan, as well as rail access to Cirebon-Purwokerto Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Surabaya. The railway station Bumiayu is one of the train stops important to this area.

NEWS
BREBES - Yogyakarta Archaeological Center (Balar) ensures that all two ancient fossils in the form of hump bones (thighs) were identified as ancient humans around 1.8 million years old. This was conveyed during the presentation of the Balar team's research results on the findings at Brebes, Tuesday (2/7).
The Chairman of the DIY Balar Team, Harry Widianto, explained that the findings broke the assumptions and theories that had been believed. That the oldest ancient human sites in Java and Indonesia turned out not to be in Sangiran, Sragen. But from Bumiayu, Brebes.
"Based on the results of the Yogyakarta Balar team's research regarding plio-plestocene migration on the Bumiayu-Prupuk-Semedo axis, the arrival and distribution of the oldest humans and mammals in Java or Indonesia. The findings of these two fossils have been identified as 1.8 million years old," explained
"For the precise measurement of the age of ancient human fossils, we will test with special tools in a dataile and more factual manner," he added.
For this reason, the Yogyakarta Balar team is still trying to dig up information and conduct detailed research related to the findings of two fossils of these ancient human parts.
"This is a great finding that we should be grateful for, because it changed the theory that was previously believed. Including, the oldest ancient human development in Indonesia originally in Sangiran from migration from the area of African distribution. All of that, refuted by the findings of these two fossils. So early humans in here it developed locally itself from 1.8 million years ago, "he said.

Build an Archaeological Museum
Responding to that, the Brebes Regent Idza Priyanti, said the government would seek the development of ancient sites in the Bumiayu District of Brebes Regency.
"We have prepared land for an archaeological site development museum in the village of Laren, Bumiayu District, covering an area of 4 hectares. The reason was built in the ancient site museum in Desa Laren because it has potential land," he explained.
The new museum of archaeological sites in Bumiayu, he continued, is planned to begin construction in 2020. With a budget from the Regional Budget.
"Archaeological site museums that will soon be built will be made into centers of archaeological research and learning as well as a means of education for students and the wider community," he explained.Based on the news above, I am increasingly convinced that this is a bright spot to make Bumiayu a historical tourism city.

Besides being found fossil, in the earthayu also found the ruins of Hindu temples located in the village of Galuhtimur.

NEWS
Brebes - A rubble of ancient temple ruins found in Galuhtimur Village, Tonjong District, Brebes Regency, Central Java. The debris consisting of andesite bricks and stones is still being studied by the Central Java Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency (BPCB).

The ruins of the temple along with the statue are thought to be a relic of classical Hindu times around the VII-XIII century AD.

This former rubble was found in the forest area of Perhutani in Galuh Timur Village, Tonjong District. Initially found statues and umpak (temple foundations) in that location.

The Head of Antiquities, Brebes Regency Culture, Youth and Sports Office, Wijanarto explained, the findings in the East Galuh Village began with an inventory of evidence of village history. This activity involved village officials, Perhutani officers and the community. They then got a report from residents that there was an ancient building debris that was discovered some time ago.

"The building that is estimated to be about 8 × 8 meters in size with a rectangular shape. Depth is estimated to be up to 7 meters. Actually, this site has been found in 1970 but by residents, taken part of the debris. Maybe thought not a historical heritage," said Wijanarto On Friday (7/19/2019).

In addition to the ruins of the temple building, in the same location there was also a Dwarapala statue and a rectangular well former. Explained, for the basic material of this temple building is made of red brick, not andesite stone. Meanwhile, the Dwarapala statue found was made of andesite stone.
This historical heritage is found, said Wijanarto, showing a classic map of Hindu power in the southern Central Java region. This is evidenced by the findings of other findings such as the Pangkuan Temple in Cilibur Village, Paguyangan District, Lumpang Jaran Statue in Laren Bumiayu Village and the Ganesha Statue in Wanatirta Village, Paguyangan District.
"This finding has important meaning. This proves that the southern part of Central Java has classic Hidnu heritage findings. In terms of power, it is possible to link the influence of the kingdom in the Pasundan region such as the Galuh kingdom which has influence from the southern West Java region to southern Central Java (Brebes and Banyumas), "he said.

At present, the Center for Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BPCB) is still researching these findings. But it is estimated, the ruins of the temple and statues are classic Hindu relics of the VIII to XIII centuries.
The discovery of a building structure that is thought to be part of Hindu temple in Galuhtimur Village, Tonjong Subdistrict, Brebes Regency shocked the residents.
Busro, 57, a local community leader said, the structure of the temple building was found in the middle of the Perhutani teak forest, the Dukuh Kalipucung area, a local village.
"Initially found some parts of the statue (statue), then again found rock components similar to rocks in the temple building," he said.
From the findings, he continued, residents then tried to find out by digging the ground around the location of the initial discovery.

Regardless of the discovery of the temple and fossils, when you visit Bumiayu there are several places that you can visit and certainly those places have historical value.
below I will tell you places you can visit when you go to Bumiayu.
1.     Sakalibel bridge
Hasil gambar untuk jembatan sakalibel
Sakalimolas Bridge, Sakalimalas, or Sakalibel (from Javanese: saka, pole; limalas, fifteen) is the term for fifteen-masted railroad bridge, which crosses over the Keruh River, Bumiayu, Brebes. The longest bridge in the Operational Area V Purwokerto has a wisdom building number 1153 and is located about one kilometer east of Bumiayu Station. With a length of around 298 m and backed by beautiful mountain scenery, Sakalimolas is popular as a place to hunt photos, especially railfans. Especially after the construction of the outer ring road of the city of Bumiayu which passes under Sakalimolas.
However, together with the construction of a double track railway between Purwokerto and Prupuk, the Dutch-era heritage bridge that uses this steel frame, is now replaced with a new building constructed of concrete and renamed Sakanenem [1]. The new concrete bridge also contains two rail lines, while the old bridge is no longer functioning.
2.     Wage market

The wage market, so the Bumiayu Brebes community calls it. The existence of the market is only every wage (one of the names of the days, in the Java market) this is indeed so special for the citizens. Not only for residents in the Bumiayu sub-district, each of the hundreds of residents from other sub-districts, such as Paguyangan, Bantarkawung, Tonjong and Sirampog do not miss to take part. and not only parents, on holidays there are not a few children who glide in this market.
Yes, this is the Wage Market which is sometimes called a cheap market by some people. This mention is not without reason. For certain commodities such as shirts, jackets, pants, household furniture, the price in this market is indeed cheap. Although the price is not infrequently tilted in line with the quality of the goods themselves.
The wage market is indeed unique, amidst the rampant action of building supermarkets and minimarkets in Bumiayu, this traditional market remains victorious, sucking the public's interest in shopping. With the characteristic 'bargaining' this market has become a special concern for the community. The market, which is actually for 'cattle trading', has far developed its original destination.
But of course, the establishment of this market is not without problems. the number of merchant stalls often jams traffic. The stalls that fly along the road to the village of Laren, grinding the road body makes it narrower.
Even so, with everything he has. The wage market is still highly anticipated.
